Why You Should Buy an Investment Home in Durham Region instead of an RRSP!!!!
Saturday, 04 February 2012, 06:10:54 PM

Are you rethinking your future investments so you include buying resale investment homes in Ontario, Specifically Durham Region?

Now is the time broaden your investment portfolio to include Real Estate in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering in 2012! Real estate is historically one of then most secure investments you can acquire in Ontario, especially when compared to the currently fickle and volatile stocks market in recent months.

Rather than contributing to an RRSP in the new year, you may want to use your budgeted investments funds  towards purchasing an investment rental property. Let me show you how your investment in Real estate can be very secure, even in a changing market. I can demonstrate how a rental home can add value to your portfolio, and provide a positive cash flow while your rental income erodes your investment debt!

Let's talk!

The demand for rental housing and rental apartments is high in both Whitby and Ajax!
Friday, 25 March 2011, 02:27:22 PM

Currently the demand for rental housing and rental apartments is high in both Whitby and Ajax.

In my conversation with the Program Manager with the 'housing services division' at Durham Region Social Services on March 23rd, 2011 it was indicated that the highest demand is currently for one and  two bedroom apartments, especially for clientelle over the age of 50 years. This age group historically stays longer in the units compared to those geared towards families.

To see the full Fall, 2010 CMHC Rental Housing Report you can access the report at this link: http://xrl.us/bitkv8

It is very lengthy, but the areas of interest are the following pages:

Page 15. See Zone 3 (Whitby)  Shows vacancy rates in October 2010 of  only 3.1% for 1 bdrms, 0.6% for 2bdrms and 1.2%  for 3 bdrm units.

Page 17. (lower section of page) Shows average rentals of $869 for 1bdrm, $962 for 2 bdrms and $1049 for 3 Bdrms.

Page 18. (lower section of page) Shows the actual number af Rental units compared to actual vacancies (zone 4 is Whitby). Note that in October 2010 there were 839 one bdrm units with only 26 vacancies, there were 1187 two bdrm units with only 7 vacancies and 262 there bdrm units with only 3 vacancies.

Another article from the local newspaper is attached, which discusses the decline in vacancy rates in Whitby and Oshawa in the recent months at: http://xrl.us/bitkwk

I hope this helps, and let me know if I can be of any service in the future!

At Your Service!

Japan in Crisis, Choose Your Charities Wisely, But Please Help!
Tuesday, 15 March 2011, 12:51:22 PM

We are all in collective shock and are grieving over the recent Earthquake, Tsunami and overwhelming continuing challenges in Japan. Many of us want to help those in need. Unfortunately there are already many scams out there saying they are collecting donations to help Japan, but the money may never go to the people that need it most.

If you want to help PLEASE DO SO!!! The latest reports from the World Health Organization indicate that there are more than 440,000 thousand people displaced from their homes that have immediate need for food, water, hygiene products and emotional support now, and will for many months to come.

If you wish to donate, please make sure that you give only to legitimate and established charities that have a proven track record. There are many very good organizations that are able to actually help. If you are unsure of who to trust and want to donate even a few dollars, I have attached a couple of links below to the Canadian Red Cross and World Vision (both are very trustworthy and capable charities)

Let's all send our prayers and positive energy to the people of Japan.

Sincerely; Christie

Tuesday, 08 March 2011, 10:36:27 AM

Weather permitting, you will be able to see both the space shuttle and space station with the naked eye tonight. To See the Space Shuttle, watch the west sky at 7:22pm. The Space station will be visible at about 7:24pm. This interesting event will only last 3 minutes so don't miss it!  To verify the best viewing time and sky co-ordinates, got this link at NASA:
